Play Craps 101

If you were looking for a run down on the best casino game, you have come to the right place. If you have ever been in a real land casino, you will agree that the loudest section is the craps section and if you have ever stood around the craps table you know that you just cannot help but be excited for the next roll of the dice. Craps brings out the child in every one of us; we just cannot get enough of it while we are playing.

Despite the many times I have played, I still cannot get enough. Actually while I am sitting here typing this I am thinking of a game right now. If only I was in Vegas.

Craps Rules & How to Play Craps

Ok, so onto the rules of craps. This is where most people think that craps is out of their league, when in fact anyone can learn to play craps. If you are unsure, you can play craps online in order to learn and practice. Online craps is available to you through two forms, free and play for real. I recommend free until you have the rules down and then you can move to play for real in order to get real gaming experience, but first you must learn the rules.

The rules of craps can seem daunting at times, but if you lend me your eyes and read this material for the several minutes it will take, you will be prepared to start your game play.

The first thing you have to know when playing craps online or off is the table. The table layout is what people get most confused about. The table is laid out in a serious of betting options. The first bet that you have to understand is the ‘come’ and ‘don’t come.’ These are simple, ‘come’ means that you are betting that the shooter, the person rolling the dice is going to roll a 7 or 11 before he rolls a 2,3, or 12. If the shooter rolls a 4,5,6,8,9,10 then that number becomes point and the game is on. The dealer(s) will then move the puck to the on position and the real game begins.

After the puck is on the on position, the table really opens up. If you look at the craps table, you will see a multitude of betting options. On the one side of the table, you will see the numbers 4,5,6,8,9,10. These are used while the point is on. For example if the point is on, you can bet the next roll is going to be 6 (all of them pay out different, depending on the odds of them being rolled). If the next roll is six then you win and the point stays on until a 7 is rolled. Therefore, you can continue to bet on any number you want until lucky or unlucky seven, depending on how you are betting, is rolled.

Craps Strategy & Craps Tips

On to the strategy of craps. Some people will tell you if you bet in a certain way or play a certain way, you will win big money. Well, in my case I have never really understood this because the simple math behind it does not make sense. If you want to come away from the craps table happy then a couple of strategies and tips will aid you in that very process.

The first thing you will want to do is put a limit on your betting, both for your total came and per bet. The last thing you want to do is blow your entire bankroll on a single bet. Aside from limiting your betting you will want to stick to the higher odd bets, such as, 6 and 8 or ‘come’, ‘don’t come’. These bets have the highest return on the table and if you play them more times than not you will come away a winner.

Now for the most important tip, have fun. It is very upsetting to me to see someone walk away from a table unhappy. You should go to the casino and the craps table with the mindset that you are going to lose some money. This is a source of entertainment and you should be willing to pay for such great entertainment. However, if you do follow these tips you will be standing at the table for a lot longer and with a bigger smile on your face. Just remember to play the game, don’t let the game play you.
